Luke Gibson

Luke Gibson is the Lead Pastor of Bridge City Church, which he and his wife, Jordyn, started the church in 2018. They are the proud parents of six children and are deeply grateful for the opportunity God has given them to invest in the life and growth of the church. Together, they are passionate about building a Christ-centered community and helping others grow in their faith.

Pastor Luke serves as the primary spiritual leader and overseer of Bridge City Church, guiding the congregation in its mission to glorify God and live out the teachings of Jesus Christ. As the Lead Pastor, Luke acts as an under-shepherd to Christ, leading the church body in worship, discipleship, and mission. This role reflects Christ’s ministry—proclaiming the gospel, nurturing believers, and serving others in love and truth.

Responsibilities:

  • Preaching and Teaching: Deliver biblically grounded sermons and provide doctrinal instruction.
  • Vision and Leadership: Cast vision for the church’s direction, aligning ministries with its mission and values.
  • Shepherding and Care: Provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and pastoral care to the congregation.
  • Administration: Oversee staff, manage church operations, and leads the Overseers of the church.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the church within the local community and foster outreach efforts.

 

 

Joshua

Joshua Humphrey serves as the Worship Pastor at Bridge City Church. He and his wife, Kaitlin, minister together on the worship team, sharing a deep passion for leading others into the presence of God through worship. With hearts devoted to honoring Jesus, they strive to create an atmosphere where people can encounter Him in a real and powerful way. They are also proud parents of two children.

Joshua leads our church family into authentic, Spirit-filled worship that puts Jesus at the center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead worship and assist in service plans that flow with the heart of what God’s doing.
  • Shepherd and support the worship team spiritually, relationally, and in discipleship.
  • Develop and train musicians, vocalists, and tech volunteers to connect their gifts with a kingdom purpose.
  • Oversee song selection, creative elements, and equipment for Sunday Services. 
  • Work closely with other leaders to support church events and vision.

 

 

 

Kayla and Caleb

Kayla Nilo serves as the Director of City Kids, Bridge City Church’s ministry for children from nursery age through 5th grade. Alongside her husband Caleb, she is dedicated to nurturing the faith of the next generation. The Nilos have two amazing children of their own and both serve as teachers in the Newark City Schools, bringing their passion for education and care into every aspect of the ministry.

 Kayla’s ministry responsibility includes:

  • Serving as the leader of Bridge City Church’s kids ministry.
  • Oversees the spiritual development and care of children from nursery through 5th grade.
  • Qualifying and training volunteers, managing curriculum, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment, and coordinating events and schedules.
  • The director also equips the teachers with resources to share the gospel all while fostering a Christ-centered atmosphere for kids to grow in their faith.
