Before his death Winston Churchill became a follower of Jesus Christ. He made his own funeral arrangements. When they said the benediction, he had arranged for a bugler high in the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral to play “Taps,” the universal signal of the day is over. After he finished there was a long pause, and then a bugler on the side of the dome played “Reveille,” the signal of a new day beginning. It was Churchill’s way of saying that while it was “Good night” here, it is “Good morning” there. Churchill believed his confident hope of victory over death was based on Jesus who is the Resurrection and the Life.

Some of us celebrated Jesus’ resurrection yesterday. We call it Easter Sunday! Because Jesus lived and died . . . and came back to life again, you and I have the amazing opportunity to have our own resurrections. His resurrections means that He paid the price for our sins and if we are willing to ask forgiveness and believe that Jesus is the Son of God we can move from the life of sin and death to new life in Him! When we draw our last breath someday there doesn’t need to be any fear if we have come to new life in Christ, because we will be raised to life in eternity with Him. 

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 NKJV

Ask Jesus into your life and believe that he forgives your sins. You will never regret finishing your life following Him.
